DFS German Air Traffic Control published the "Aeronautical Chart ICAO 1:500.000 edition Glider" for Germany. The chart bears the recommendation of the German Aero Club e.V. With the Aeronautical Chart ICAO 1:500.000 for gliding the German air traffic control is again according to customer requirements.
The official ICAO chart for gliding is made of the same high quality, recognized the clear topography and the known color representation as the classic Aeronautical Chart ICAO 1:500.000.
It provides with the specific aeronautical informations more security and flexibility in gliding.
Chart informations:
- any height in meters
- Airspace dimensions in meters and feet/FL
- detailed informations on sites like terrain gliding height, length and orientation, and also frequency
- highlighting all airfields with gliding operations
- Identification of airfields with tow mode
- detailed obstacle representation by using different symbols as TV towers, wind turbines and electricity pylons
- color coding of the gliding sector (C-and D-regions)
- large number of known turning points for glider competitions
- easier determination of turning points by an improved representation of the coordinate grid
The best chart image contains a plurality changed aeronautical informations, especially this year redefined responsibilities, call signs and frequencies of flight information services in the Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin.
The entire aeronautical chart ICAO 1:500.000 edition gliding contains eight sheets. Sheet size plano 100 x 48 cm, folded 24 x 14.5 cm.
