f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS TM350 Collision Warning System

Product information "f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS TM350 Collision Warning System"

The f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS TM350 is a compact avionics module for airspace monitoring and proximity warning. It receives and processes ADS-B, Mode S, Mode A/C and FLARM signals to help the pilot assess the surrounding traffic situation. Traffic information is supplied to connected cockpit displays, external indicators or compatible navigation apps.

The information available depends on the transmissions received and the equipment configuration. Detecting a signal is different from decoding precise position data. In particular, the standard FLARM reception capability differs from the optional upgrade that enables full position processing.

An integrated FLARM beacon transmits FLARM messages, allowing the aircraft to be detected by suitably equipped FLARM systems. In the standard configuration, incoming FLARM signals are evaluated by signal strength. Nearby FLARM traffic is reported without precise position information. Full internal FLARM reception with position decoding requires an optional licence. An external FLARM device can be connected as an alternative.

Serial RS232 interfaces and WiFi provide connections to displays and navigation systems. Supported output protocols include GDL90, FLARM and NMEA. The manufacturer lists SkyDemon, ForeFlight and VFRnav among the compatible navigation apps. The connection and output protocol are configured to suit the receiving system.

Setup is carried out through a browser-based WiFi interface, which provides access to device parameters and interface settings. Two simultaneous WiFi connections are supported for wireless data transfer. An ARINC429 interface is available as an option.

When connected to a suitable extended-squitter-capable transponder, the TM350 can form part of an ADS-B In/Out system. The aircraft’s own ADS-B position is transmitted by the transponder. The TM350 alone does not replace an ADS-B Out transponder. The manufacturer provides optimised integration with the f.u.n.k.e. TRT800H and TRT800A transponders.

The module measures 35 × 65 × 115 mm and weighs approximately 250 g including the mounting plate. Its operating voltage is 11–30 V DC. This product includes the TM350 and its mounting plate. The required antennas and connecting cables must be ordered separately.
