Becker Avionics Transceiver GT 6201, 6 W
Product information "Becker Avionics Transceiver GT 6201, 6 W"
The Becker GT 6201 is a compact VHF/AM transceiver for ground-to-air communication. This version provides 6 W output power and supports both 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz channel spacing. It is designed for fixed installations at airfields and installation in vehicles.
Its compact format allows the GT 6201 to be integrated into existing operating desks and consoles. The manufacturer lists main and backup radio applications in control towers and ground communication systems. A suitable installation kit is available as an accessory for vehicle applications.
Operation is handled directly at the front panel. The illuminated LCD shows the active frequency and, depending on the operating mode, the standby frequency or a memory channel. Device parameters can be adjusted through the user menu to suit the installation.
For frequently used frequencies, 99 user-programmable memory channels are available. Stored frequencies can be assigned a text label. The radio also automatically stores the nine most recently used active frequencies. This allows recurring frequencies to be recalled without entering them again.
The dual-watch function in scan mode monitors the active and preset frequencies. The active frequency has priority, allowing a second frequency to be monitored while the main frequency remains selected for communication.
Adjustable squelch suppresses unwanted receiver noise. The GT 6201 uses digital signal processing and performs automatic built-in tests. Audio connections include a dynamic microphone input and configurable audio outputs.
According to Friebe, the unit is connection-compatible with accessories for the Becker AR 4201 and AR 6201. The microphone, audio accessories, wiring and antenna must be selected to suit the specific installation.
The GT 6201 meets ETSI EN 300 676 requirements and holds BAF equipment approval D-0030/2014 for ground radio applications. Its housing measures 61 × 61 × 205.7 mm, and its weight is approximately 650 g.
