f.u.n.k.e AVIONICS ATR 833-II LCD
Product information "f.u.n.k.e AVIONICS ATR 833-II LCD"
The f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS ATR833-II LCD is a modern, compact VHF/AM aviation transceiver with 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz channel spacing, specifically designed for installation in the standard 57 mm / 2¼-inch instrument panel cutout. As the successor to the proven ATR833, the ATR833-II combines modern digital signal processing with high transmitter output power, an integrated intercom, Dual Watch functionality and an LCD display that remains highly readable even in bright sunlight.
The transmitter and receiver of the ATR833-II have been completely redesigned and use modern Digital Signal Processing (DSP). Digital processing begins immediately after the first intermediate frequency and is complemented by digital audio signal processing. This provides stable transmitter performance and clear voice communication.
The ATR833-II supports both 8.33 kHz channel spacing and conventional 25 kHz channel spacing, covering the VHF aviation communication frequency range from 118.000 to 136.975 MHz.
With an RF transmitter output power of 6 watts, the compact transceiver provides powerful and reliable communication for a wide range of aircraft.
A particularly useful feature of the ATR833-II is its integrated Dual Watch function. In addition to the active frequency, a second frequency can be monitored simultaneously. This is useful, for example, when another relevant frequency needs to be monitored while remaining on the current airport or FIS frequency.
The integrated voice-controlled intercom supports up to four microphones. Standard and dynamic microphones can be used, providing flexible adaptation to different headset and cockpit configurations.
With suitable headsets, the integrated intercom can be used as a 4-place intercom system. If an external intercom system is already installed in the aircraft, the internal intercom function can be disabled.
Another particularly practical feature is the recording of the most recently received radio transmission. At the push of a button, up to 9 seconds of the last received transmission can be replayed. If a frequency, call sign or instruction was not fully understood, the pilot can simply listen to the last transmission again.
For frequently used frequencies, the ATR833-II provides 20 freely programmable memory locations. Each stored frequency can be assigned an individual name, making frequently used airport, FIS or other frequencies easy to identify and recall.
In addition, the ATR833-II automatically stores the 10 most recently used frequencies, allowing them to be recalled quickly.
A major advantage of this version is the LCD display. It provides excellent readability even in direct sunlight while also offering low power consumption. These characteristics make the LCD version particularly attractive for gliders and other aircraft where the instrument panel may be exposed to strong sunlight or where low electrical power consumption is important.
The matrix display features a resolution of 128 × 64 pixels and provides a clear overview of the relevant radio information.
The ATR833-II can also be fully remote-controlled using the separately available ATR833RT Remote Control Unit. This provides additional installation flexibility, for example in tandem cockpits or when the main radio cannot be installed in an easily accessible position.
With dimensions of only 65 × 65 × 169 mm and a weight of approximately 460 g, the ATR833-II is exceptionally compact and lightweight. Installation is designed for the widely used 57 mm / 2¼-inch round instrument format.
The wide supply voltage range of 11 to 30 V DC allows operation in both 12 V and 24 V aircraft electrical systems.
The ATR833-II LCD is ETSO approved and meets the applicable requirements for use as a VHF aviation communication transceiver.
