f.u.n.k.e AVIONICS Electronic Radio ATR 833A

Product information "f.u.n.k.e AVIONICS Electronic Radio ATR 833A"

The f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS ATR833A is a fully featured VHF/AM aviation transceiver with 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz channel spacing in a classic ARINC housing. It was developed particularly as a powerful replacement and retrofit solution for existing 25 kHz aviation radios and combines high transmitter output power with an integrated intercom and extensive frequency memory functions.

The ATR833A covers the complete VHF aviation communication frequency range from 118.000 to 136.975 MHz and supports both 8.33 kHz channel spacing and conventional 25 kHz channel spacing. This makes the unit suitable for 8.33 kHz aviation communication while remaining compatible with existing 25 kHz frequencies.

With an RF transmitter output power of approximately 6 watts, the ATR833A provides powerful and reliable communication for appropriately equipped aircraft.

A major advantage of the ATR833A is its integrated voice-controlled intercom for up to four positions. In many installations, this eliminates the need for a separate intercom system, helping to reduce installation effort, additional wiring, weight and cost.

The microphone inputs can be individually adjusted, allowing the integrated intercom to be adapted to the respective headset and cockpit configuration.

For frequently used frequencies, the ATR833A provides 100 frequency memory locations with individual names. This allows regularly used airport, FIS and other frequencies to be quickly identified and recalled.

In addition, the ATR833A features an integrated frequency database based on Jeppesen data for European airfields. Frequencies can be searched and selected by airfield name, making frequency selection more convenient during flight.

The combination of personal frequency memories and an integrated airfield database makes the ATR833A particularly practical for cross-country flying and frequent operations at different airfields.

The unit is housed in an ARINC-format enclosure, making it particularly suitable as a replacement for older aviation radios with corresponding installation dimensions. When retrofitting the unit, the existing installation, connector configuration and applicable approval requirements must be checked.

The wide 10 to 30 V DC supply voltage range allows the ATR833A to be operated with both typical 12 V and 24 V aircraft electrical systems.

With an audio output power of approximately 4 watts, the unit can also drive a suitable external loudspeaker.

The ATR833A is ETSO approved and carries the EASA equipment approval EASA 21O.0193.

Installation:

The ATR833A features an ARINC-format housing and was developed, among other applications, as a replacement for existing aviation radios using 25 kHz channel spacing.

When replacing or retrofitting an existing radio, the aircraft's electrical installation, connector pin assignment, antenna system and applicable airworthiness and installation requirements must be verified.

Important Note:

This product is the earlier-generation ATR833A. The current successor model is the f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS ATR833A-II.

The technical specifications and functions of the ATR833A and ATR833A-II differ in several areas and should therefore not be confused.
