f.u.n.k.e AVIONICS Electronic Radio ATR 833S
Product information "f.u.n.k.e AVIONICS Electronic Radio ATR 833S"
The f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS ATR833S is an exceptionally compact and lightweight VHF/AM aviation transceiver with 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz channel spacing, designed for installation in a standard 57 mm / 2¼-inch instrument panel cutout. As the modern successor to the proven ATR500, the ATR833S combines simple and intuitive operation with digital signal processing, 6 watts of transmitter output power, Dual Watch and an integrated voice-controlled intercom.
Weighing only approximately 380 g, the ATR833S is one of the lighter certified aviation radios in its class. Its lightweight housing makes it particularly attractive for gliders, motor gliders, ultralight aircraft and other aircraft where low weight is an important consideration.
The ATR833S covers the VHF aviation communication frequency range from 118.000 to 136.975 MHz and supports both 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz channel spacing. It therefore meets the requirements for 8.33 kHz channel spacing used in European aviation communication.
With an RF transmitter output power of 6 watts, the compact radio provides powerful and reliable communication for a wide range of aircraft.
The ATR833S uses modern Digital Signal Processing (DSP). Digital processing begins directly after the first intermediate frequency and is complemented by digital audio signal processing. This provides stable transmitter performance and clear, intelligible radio communication.
A particularly useful feature of the ATR833S is its integrated Dual Watch function, allowing two frequencies to be monitored simultaneously. While communicating on the active frequency, the standby frequency can be monitored for incoming transmissions.
The integrated voice-controlled intercom supports up to four microphones and features automatic detection of the connected microphone type. Standard and dynamic microphones can therefore be integrated into a variety of cockpit and headset configurations.
If an external intercom or audio system is already installed in the aircraft, the internal intercom function of the ATR833S can be disabled.
An additional external audio input is available for integrating other audio sources into the radio's audio system.
For frequently used frequencies, the ATR833S provides 20 freely programmable frequency memories. Stored frequencies can be assigned individual names, making airport, FIS and other regularly used frequencies easy to identify and recall.
In addition, the radio automatically stores the 10 most recently used frequencies, allowing them to be quickly recalled without having to manually re-enter the complete frequency.
The bright two-line LCD display provides a clear overview of the most important information. The proven display concept of the ATR500 has been further developed for the ATR833S and enhanced with additional symbols.
The deliberately straightforward operating concept makes the ATR833S particularly suitable for pilots who value simple and intuitive operation. This is also an advantage for flying clubs and shared aircraft, where the aircraft may be operated by many different pilots.
With dimensions of only 65 × 65 × 163 mm, the ATR833S requires very little installation space. It fits the widely used 57 mm / 2¼-inch round instrument format.
The wide 11 to 30 V DC supply voltage range allows operation in both typical 12 V and 24 V aircraft electrical systems.
Various wiring adapters and wiring harnesses are available for the ATR833S. Depending on the existing installation, this can simplify the replacement of older aviation radios without requiring the complete electrical installation to be rebuilt.
The ATR833S is ETSO approved and meets the applicable European requirements for use as a VHF aviation communication transceiver.
