The GS8-II portable radio station with ATR833-II LCD is a complete, self-contained VHF aviation radio station from f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS. It combines the modern ATR833-II-LCD aviation transceiver with an antenna, battery, handheld microphone and charger to provide a flexible mobile communication solution.

The station is particularly suitable for airfields, gliding sites, ultralight airfields, flight schools, flying clubs, aviation events and temporary radio installations where a portable aviation radio station with an independent power supply is required.

At the heart of the GS8-II is the ATR833-II-LCD, providing 6 W transmitter output, digital signal processing, Dual Watch and an integrated voice-activated intercom.

The ATR833-II represents the advanced generation of the proven ATR833 aviation radios from f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS.

The transmitter and receiver use modern digital signal processing. The radio supports 8.33 kHz channel spacing required for European aviation radio operation and provides an RF transmitter output of 6 W.

Sunlight-Readable LCD Display

A major advantage of the LCD version is its excellent readability in sunlight combined with low power consumption.

These characteristics are particularly beneficial for a portable radio station because the GS8-II is frequently operated outdoors while also being required to operate independently from mains power for extended periods.

Dual Watch

The integrated Dual Watch function allows two frequencies to be monitored.

While the active frequency is used for normal communication, the radio simultaneously monitors the selected standby frequency for incoming transmissions.

Say Again – Replay the Last Transmission

The ATR833-II automatically records up to 9 seconds of the most recently received radio transmission.

The recording can be replayed at the push of a button.

This is particularly useful if a call sign, frequency or other important information was not fully understood when first received.

Frequency Memories

The ATR833-II provides memory functions for frequently used frequencies.

Frequencies can be stored together with individual identifiers. In addition, the 10 most recently used frequencies can be recalled quickly.

This makes it easy to manage frequently required airfield, operational or information frequencies.

Integrated Intercom

The ATR833-II features an integrated voice-activated intercom with automatic microphone type detection.

The system supports up to four microphones, including two standard and two dynamic microphones. Microphone levels can be adjusted individually.

When installed in the portable GS8-II station, normal radio operation is primarily carried out using the supplied handheld microphone.

Integrated Battery for Mobile Operation

The GS8-II incorporates its own battery and can therefore be operated independently of a permanently installed power supply.

This allows the radio station to be positioned flexibly at different locations around an airfield or used for temporary operations.

After operation, the battery can be recharged using the supplied charger.

Complete Mobile Radio Solution

The radio, power supply and connection system are combined into a portable unit.

This provides a complete radio station without first having to permanently install an aviation radio in a vehicle, building or operating console.

The supplied antenna and handheld microphone allow the station to be prepared quickly for use at the required location.
