The GS8-II portable radio station with ATR833-II OLED is a complete, self-contained VHF aviation radio station from f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS. It combines the powerful ATR833-II OLED aviation transceiver with a portable carrying frame, independent power supply, antenna and handheld microphone to provide a complete mobile communication solution.

The station is particularly suitable for airfields, gliding sites, temporary landing sites, ground stations, aviation events and temporary radio installations where a permanently installed radio system is not available.

The package includes the ATR833-II with high-contrast OLED display, antenna, integrated battery, dynamic handheld microphone and charger.

ATR833-II OLED Aviation Radio

At the heart of the portable station is the f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS ATR833-II OLED.

This modern VHF/AM aviation transceiver uses digital signal processing and supports both 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz channel spacing.

With an RF transmitter output of 6 W, the ATR833-II provides a powerful radio solution for mobile applications.

High-Contrast OLED Display

The OLED version of the ATR833-II features a particularly high-contrast display.

Active and standby frequencies are clearly displayed and can be quickly selected using the radio controls.

The OLED display provides excellent readability, particularly when the station is not exposed to direct sunlight.

8.33 kHz and 25 kHz Channel Spacing

The ATR833-II meets the requirements for 8.33 kHz channel spacing while continuing to support conventional 25 kHz channel spacing.

This makes the station suitable for current European aviation radio operations as well as a wide range of other applications.

Dual Watch

The integrated Dual Watch function allows two frequencies to be monitored.

While the active frequency is used for normal radio communication, the standby frequency can simultaneously be monitored for incoming transmissions.

Say Again – Replay the Last Transmission

The ATR833-II automatically records up to 9 seconds of the most recently received radio transmission.

The recording can be replayed at the push of a button.

This is particularly useful if a call sign, frequency or other important information was not fully understood when first received.

Frequency Memories

Up to 20 frequencies can be stored together with individual identifiers.

In addition, the 10 most recently used frequencies can be recalled quickly.

Frequently required airfield, FIS or operational frequencies can therefore be managed conveniently.

Integrated Intercom

The ATR833-II features a voice-activated intercom with automatic microphone type detection.

The system supports up to four microphones, including two standard and two dynamic microphones.

When used as a portable ground station, operation will normally be via the supplied handheld microphone.

Independent Power Supply

The GS8-II incorporates its own 12 V battery, allowing the radio station to operate independently of a permanently installed power source.

This allows the station to be used flexibly at different locations.

After use, the battery can be recharged using the supplied charger.

Complete Mobile Radio Solution

The carrying frame combines the radio, battery and connection system into a compact portable unit.

The station can therefore be transported easily and deployed at different locations.

Unlike an individual panel-mounted aviation radio, the essential components required for mobile operation are already combined in a single unit.
