Walter Dittel Transceiver FSG 90
Product information "Walter Dittel Transceiver FSG 90"
The Walter Dittel / f.u.n.k.e. Avionics FSG 90 is a proven and exceptionally rugged VHF/AM aviation transceiver for the frequency range from 118.000 to 136.975 MHz. The FSG 90 has been used worldwide for decades and is particularly known for its high reliability, long service life and robust design.
Originally developed by Walter Dittel, the FSG series is now continued by f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS. The compact radio is suitable for installation in aircraft as well as – with the appropriate approval and configuration – for ground radio and mobile applications.
The FSG 90 supports both 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz channel spacing. In combined 8.33/25 kHz operation, a total of 2,278 channels are available within the frequency range from 118.000 to 136.975 MHz. Alternatively, the unit can be switched to 25 kHz operation only.
For frequently used frequencies, the FSG 90 provides 99 freely programmable channel memories. This allows regularly used airport, FIS and other radio frequencies to be stored and recalled quickly and conveniently.
A dedicated speech processor helps provide excellent speech quality and intelligibility, including operation with the narrower 8.33 kHz channel spacing.
The FSG 90 provides an RF transmitter output power of 6 watts, making it a powerful radio solution for professional aircraft installations and compatible ground applications.
The unit is designed for a nominal aircraft supply voltage of 13.8 V DC and can be operated within a supply voltage range of approximately 11.0 to 16.1 V DC.
With its round front panel, the FSG 90 is designed for the classic 2¼-inch instrument panel cutout (57/58 mm). This allows the transceiver to be integrated into the instrument panel while requiring relatively little panel space.
All essential operating functions are controlled via the front panel. The rear of the unit features a 25-pin D-Sub connector for the electrical installation and a BNC antenna connector.
In addition to permanent aircraft installation, the FSG 90 can be used with suitable accessories in appropriate portable radio stations and carrying systems, making it suitable for certain mobile ground radio applications.
The FSG 90 is also compatible with CLIMAX / Multi-Carrier systems, allowing it to be used for corresponding professional ground communication applications.
