David Clark H10-13HXL
Product information "David Clark H10-13HXL"
The David Clark H10-13HXL is a high-quality Electronic Noise Cancelling (ENC) aviation headset for helicopters, combining the proven construction of the classic David Clark H10 series with active electronic noise reduction. It is specifically designed for pilots who want additional noise reduction in the demanding acoustic environment of a helicopter cockpit.
In addition to effective passive noise attenuation, the H10-13HXL features Electronic Noise Cancelling (ENC). The electronic system particularly reduces distracting low-frequency noise typically generated by helicopter engines, transmissions and rotors. This creates a more comfortable acoustic environment and improves the intelligibility of radio and intercom communications.
The large over-ear ear cups and high-quality Comfort-Gel ear seals provide effective passive noise attenuation. The combination of passive and electronic noise reduction makes the H10-13HXL particularly suitable for longer flights and regular professional helicopter operations.
The ENC electronics are powered by a 9-volt battery housed in the separate battery module. One battery provides up to 25 hours of operation. A pilot-selectable Automatic Shut-Off function helps prevent unnecessary battery drain when the headset is not in use.
For clear and reliable voice transmission, the H10-13HXL features the proven David Clark M-7A noise-cancelling electret microphone. The microphone reduces distracting background noise during transmission, helping to ensure clear communication via radio and intercom.
The patented Flex/Wire Boom allows easy and precise positioning of the microphone directly in front of the mouth. The microphone boom can be flexibly adjusted and reliably holds the microphone in the desired position.
For a high level of comfort, the H10-13HXL is equipped with large, undercut Comfort-Gel ear seals. They completely surround the ears, provide a comfortable fit and contribute significantly to the headset's passive noise attenuation.
The enlarged, exceptionally soft double-foam head pad distributes the weight of the headset evenly across the head and helps reduce uncomfortable pressure points during longer flights.
Independent volume controls for the left and right ear allow the listening level to be individually adjusted. The headset is also stereo compatible and can be used with appropriately equipped stereo intercom and cabin entertainment systems.
The modular design allows the headset to be disconnected from the portable battery module, providing additional flexibility when using different power supply modules.
This helicopter version features an approximately 1.5 m / 5 ft. extended coil cord with U-174/U connector and is intended for appropriately equipped civilian helicopter intercom systems.
The David Clark H10-13HXL is FAA TSO C57a and C58a approved and comes with a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
