Sennheiser HME 46 K, GA-Plug

Product information "Sennheiser HME 46 K, GA-Plug"

The Sennheiser HME 46-K is an exceptionally lightweight and comfortable passive aviation headset with standard GA dual plugs, specifically designed for use in cockpits with relatively low ambient noise levels. Weighing only approximately 150 g without the cable, it provides outstanding comfort and is particularly suitable for pilots who wear their headset for many hours at a time.

Unlike conventional over-ear aviation headsets, the HME 46-K features an open, on-ear design. The ear pads rest lightly on the ears rather than completely surrounding them. This provides an airy and exceptionally lightweight wearing experience with minimal heat build-up.

Due to its open design, the HME 46-K is particularly suitable for lower-noise cockpits. It is not designed as a replacement for a heavily insulated over-ear headset in very noisy piston-engine aircraft.

The patented two-piece automatic headband provides excellent long-term comfort. It automatically adapts to the shape of the head and distributes the low contact pressure of approximately 3 N evenly. Combined with the soft ear pads, this ensures a comfortable fit even during extended periods of use.

A special feature of the HME 46-K is its swivelling earphone system. One ear cup can be moved away from the ear for single-sided listening, allowing the pilot to hear direct cockpit communication while continuing to monitor radio or intercom audio.

For clear and reliable voice transmission, the HME 46-K features the proven Sennheiser MKE 46 noise-compensated electret condenser microphone. The microphone is specifically designed for excellent speech intelligibility and helps reduce distracting ambient noise during transmission.

The flexible microphone boom can be individually adjusted for precise positioning of the microphone in front of the mouth. The microphone can be worn on either the left or right side, allowing the headset to be adapted to the pilot's individual preference.

Integrated Peak Level Protection protects the user against unpleasant volume peaks, increasing comfort in the event of sudden high audio levels.

The headset operates entirely without active noise cancellation and requires no batteries, making it particularly simple and low-maintenance.

The single-sided connection cable is approximately 1.85 m long and can be replaced if required. This HME 46-K version features the standard GA dual plugs commonly used in General Aviation aircraft, with a 6.3 mm headphone plug and a PJ-068-compatible microphone plug.

A carrying bag and microphone windscreen are also included.
