The Sennheiser HMEC 26-2-1-BV-K-2 is an exceptionally lightweight and comfortable aviation headset with active NoiseGard™ noise compensation, designed for professional cockpit applications as well as General Aviation. It combines effective active and passive noise reduction with low weight, excellent speech intelligibility and outstanding long-term comfort.
This version is supplied as a complete, ready-to-use headset with standard GA dual plugs and an external battery compartment. Unlike the basic version supplied without a connection cable, the BV-K-2 version already includes the appropriate connection cable.
The integrated NoiseGard™ Active Noise Compensation particularly reduces distracting low-frequency cockpit noise. In the frequency range from 100 to 300 Hz, the active noise compensation provides at least 18 dB of noise reduction. Combined with the passive attenuation of the headset, total active and passive noise attenuation is approximately 15 to 30 dB.
By reducing distracting background noise, radio and intercom communications can be heard clearly at more comfortable volume levels. This helps reduce acoustic fatigue and contributes to a more comfortable working environment, particularly during longer flights.
The HMEC 26-2-1 features closed, dynamic On-Ear earphone systems. Unlike conventional large Over-Ear aviation headsets, the ear pads rest directly on the ears. This keeps the headset exceptionally compact and lightweight.
Weighing only approximately 210 g without the connection cable, the HMEC 26-2-1 is one of the lighter active aviation headsets and is particularly suitable for pilots who wear their headset for many hours at a time.
Additional comfort is provided by the patented two-piece automatic headband. It automatically adapts to the shape of the head when the headset is put on and evenly distributes the low contact pressure of approximately 3.6 N.
One earphone can be swivelled backwards for single-sided listening. This allows the pilot to hear direct conversations or ambient sounds when required without completely removing the headset.
For clear and reliable voice transmission, the HMEC 26-2-1 features a high-quality noise-compensated, pre-polarized condenser microphone. It is specifically designed to provide excellent speech intelligibility in cockpit environments while reducing distracting background noise during transmission.
The flexible microphone boom allows precise positioning of the microphone in front of the mouth. Thanks to its swivelling design, the microphone can be worn on either the left or right side.
Integrated Peak Level Protection protects against unpleasant volume peaks. Audio peaks above 110 dB are limited, contributing to safer and more comfortable operation.
This BV-K-2 version features an external battery compartment to power the NoiseGard™ electronics. Power is supplied by two 1.5 V AA batteries.
The connection cable features independent volume controls for the left and right ear, allowing the listening level to be individually adjusted.
The HMEC 26-2-1-BV-K-2 is supplied with the standard GA dual plugs commonly used in General Aviation and can therefore be connected directly to appropriately equipped aircraft intercom systems.
