Telex Airman 8, GA-Plug

The Telex Airman 8 is a lightweight active noise reduction headset designed for commercial and business aviation. This version features GA dual plugs and a headphone impedance of 600 ohms. Its ANR system provides up to 15 dB of noise attenuation to support speech intelligibility in the cockpit.

Power is supplied through the microphone bias of the connected audio system. Active noise reduction therefore operates without batteries or a separate power connection. The ANR switch is positioned on the forward-facing side of the ear cup for access while wearing the headset.

An amplified noise-cancelling electret microphone supports clear voice transmission. The flexible microphone boom allows individual positioning and can be worn on either side of the head. An acoustic limiter protects against sudden increases in sound level.

Soft headband pads, leatherette ear cushions and pivoting ear cups allow the fit to be tailored to the wearer. Wearing weight without the connection cable is approximately 119 g. A stainless steel headband, metal pivots and reinforced cable entry are designed for regular use. Ear cushions and ear cup covers are replaceable.
